About the winery: In 1600 the distant ancestors of the Steenkamp family left Friesland for the Cape to build their lives here. Cape Wine Master De Bruyn Steenkamp and his wife Marilise, owner and winemaker of Klein Friesland, is the 4th generation in a row to make and blend wine in Stellenbosch. The vineyards of Klein Friesland cover an area of 36 hectares and are located in the Bottelary Hills. They have a beautiful view of Table Mountain. The location is ideal and they benefit from a cooling breeze from the sea in the late afternoon.
