Organic Vlielander Seawead Cheese
On the highest dune of the Island of Vlieland, deep under the ground there is a former drinking water bunker filled with cheeses. Silently waiting for the perfect moment to be consumed.
Since 2015 this bunker is used for the ripening of the very special organic Vlieland Bunker Cheeses. Due to the humidity and temperature in the bunker, the bunker has a unique micro climate perfect for ripening of cheeses.
The most famous of our cheeses is the Vlieland Seaweed Cheese. Using hand harvested Vlieland Seaweed (Ulva Lactuca) th flavor the entire cheese, with its salty and umami aroma's.
